VPN Usage Policy

Purpose:

The purpose of this policy is to provide guidelines for users utilizing a Virtual Private Network (VPN) provided by Quantic School of Business and Technology. A VPN is a secured private network connection built on top of a public network, such as the internet.

VPN Users:

Quantic School of Business and Technology provides access to a VPN for our students studying from China.  In order to gain access to the VPN, you must be a registered and enrolled student with Quantic School of Business and Technology. Approval may be granted only by the Chief Technology Officer or the Chief Academic Officer. Each approved user is responsible for arranging an Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection and installing VPN client software.

Usage Policy:

The Quantic provided VPN may only be used to access websites and materials directly related to the student’s program and studies. The VPN  cannot be used to access non-academic web browsing, video streaming, gaming, or social media, etc.

VPN access will require authentication by user account/password and all traffic will be encrypted using standard protocols. All authentication attempts will be logged.

VPN access is to be used solely by the approved user. It is the responsibility of each VPN user not to allow any other individual to use their account to access the VPN.

Network connection activity may be logged and monitored for security purposes.

Access to the VPN will be removed immediately following graduation, withdrawal, or dismissal.

If any violation of policy occurs, Quantic may take any necessary steps in ensuring the security of the VPN and the network. This may include suspension of accounts and/or network access, as well as review by the Code of Conduct Review Committee.
